Paradise Valley

Paradise Valley Past and Present

Cattle grazed on the open grassy range of Paradise Valley during the late 1800’s. Shortly thereafter, the Rio Verde Canal Company changed the setting somewhat when they set up proper irrigation for farmland. It was not until the 1940’s that the population began to increase more rapidly, and it remained a rural residential area with modestly sized houses on large plots of land usually ranging from one to five acres. Paradise Valley was incorporated as a town in 1961. The town’s history and heritage are continually kept in focus in order to keep the town on-track with its original founder’s ideals. Then and now, two of the town’s priorities continue to be to maintain the community’s unique characteristics and open space, while promoting a more sustainable community.
